Resources to help Cope with COVID-19 Worries

In this current climate of uncertainty, there are things that we can do that will help ease and maybe contain at least some of our anxieties.

I’ve brought together here some resources that I’ve found that I think are helpful and worth taking a little time to explore, work through and employ to help you manage your feelings right now. I’ll add more as I come across them. Click on the graphic or associated link and check them out, then let me know how you’ve found them. If I can offer any direct help, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

FACE COVID: How to respond effectively to the Corona crisis. An eBook and Animated Video by Dr Russ Harris presenting an Act-based approach to managing our anxieties about the virus. (I’ve also included a link to a text-based PDF version of this if that’s easier for you to access)

Video Animation by Russ Harris: … please watch and share.

Covibook – This short ebook was created by Manuela Molina to support and reassure our children, under the age of 7, regarding the COVID-19. It is book is an invitation for families to discuss the full range of emotions arising from the current situation. It is important to point out that this resource does not seek to be a source of scientific information, but rather a tool based on fantasy. Remember that emotions are processed through repetitive play and stories read multiple times. Share COVIBOOK and help ease your child’s anxiety.

Relaxation  / Visualisation Exercises – I have recorded some short(-ish) visualisation and breathing exercises that I encourage you to listen to and practice with daily to give yourself at least some brief mental holidays from the stresses of the current situation. Click on the downward arrow in the top right of the image to download the recordings to your device so you can listen to them anywhere.

The Light Stream – a 16 minute visualisation. Sit or lie down somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed and follow my spoken instructions. You can practice this alone or with family members together.

My 8-minute Breathing Space Meditation … what it says on the tin!
