Dr Fiona Pender holds a Master’s degree in psychology from the University of St Andrews and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London. She is a registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist, and a member of the British Psychological Society.

When not working with Clerkin Psychology Services Ltd., Dr Pender is employed by Cheshire and Wirral Foundation NHS Trust as a Principal Clinical Psychologist. Previously, she worked for both Central and North West London Mental Health NHS Trust and South West London and St George’s NHS Trusts between 2003 to 2004.

Dr Pender lectures on the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Programme at the University of Liverpool on Child Clinical Psychology. She provides supervision for Clinical Psychologists and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapists and also supervises and trains graduate students from the University of Liverpool Doctoral Training Programme in the area of Child Clinical Psychology.

Dr Pender's NHS work base is a community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. Her therapy employs cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and systemic approaches such as narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and systemic family therapy according the client’s needs.

Instructions / Referrals Considered

Dr Pender is happy to consider instruction in medico-legal assessments, particularly relating to psychological trauma following road traffic accidents.

She offers therapy for children and adults with a range of emotional and behavioural problems.
